5 Junior Finalists Announced!

5 FINALISTS OF GINA BACHAUER INT’L JUNIOR PIANO COMPETITION

25 young pianists ages 11-14 from all over the world each performed two recitals this week for the international jury and audience members at Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center. After over 25 hours of piano music varying from Johann Sebastian Bach to contemporary composer Jack Fina’s Bumble Boogie, the judges have selected the five finalists who will perform a concerto movement on June 18th with concerto accompanist Alexandra Nguyen.

Tchaikovsky: Concerto No. 1 in B-flat Minor, op. 23
I. Allegro non troppo e molto maestoso

The jury will make their final votes with no discussion following the final performance. The awards ceremony will follow where the following prizes will be announced:

1st Prize – Gold Medal
$10,000 Cash Award

2nd Prize – Silver Medal
$5,000 Cash Award

3rd Prize – Bronze Medal
$3,000 Cash Award
