The competition attracts the world’s most promising pianists, and that provides an unforgettable cultural exchange for host families and musicians who open their homes for the competition.
In fact, the competition is a success largely because of the Utah families that invite the musicians to stay with them. The families provide all lodging, meals, transportation as well as a grand piano for the musicians to practice on.
During the competition, twelve competitors will advance to the semi-final round, and three finalists will perform a concerto with the Utah Symphony on June 25th at Abravanel Hall.
