19-year old Vadym Kholodenko was born in Kiev, Ukraine. In 2004, he won the Maria Callas International Piano Competition in Athens, Greece. This competition requires seven concerti for piano and orchestra and a solo recital. He attended music school in his native Kiev, Ukraine and then enrolled in the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. He was the 2004 winner of the Russian Youth Independent Prize. He has performed with the Orchestra of Hungarian Radio in the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and the Odeon Herodes Atticus Theatre in Athens, Greece. He has also performed with the Moscow State Orchestra and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic. He was the Third Prize winner of the Liszt International Piano Competition in Budapest in 2001.
I consider that music is one of the best expressions of the human creativity. That is why I have decided to devote my life to music interpretations and to bring my best efforts to music enthusiasts. I have investigated different programs of various music competitions. However, I feel that the program of Gina Bachauer International Artists Piano Competition permits to demonstrate the best skills of the interpreter. So I want to take part in one of the most important competitions, in the upcoming Gina Bachauer International Artists Piano Competition. I hope that my participation in the Gina Bachauer International Artists Piano Competition will represent a significant step in my professional career.
