Zuo Zhang, China

Zuo Zhang is currently a junior at the Shenzhen Arts School. She has been studying with Dan Zhaoyi since 1995, and is the winner of several competition prizes and awards.

At age ten, she was featured in the video "Outstanding Musical Children of China" by invitation of the Chinese Musicians Association. Zuo has been awarded prizes at the Kong Xiangdong Piano Competition, the Hong Kong Opening Competition, and captured the Grand Prize at the Sixth Krainev International Piano Competition.

She has performed with the Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Kharkov Philharmonic Orchestras.

IN HER OWN WORDS...

"I really enjoy playing the piano music makes me happy. I'm so glad to join an international competition so I can make many new friends, meet new teachers, and most importantly, so I can stand on the stage and show my music for the people of the U.S."
