“I enjoy playing the piano because it has been a part of me ever since I was born. I do not ever remember having to learn how to play; it has just been an instinct, much like walking and talking. I find, however, that once most people reach a certain level of proficiency on an instrument, they will naturally enjoy performing it, and that the better one plays their instrument, the more in love they will be with it. For example, I do not enjoy playing the violin as much as I do the piano, and it is probably because I haven't reached practiced and studied the violin enough to thoroughly appreciate its beauty yet. On the other hand, the amount of time I have invested practicing the piano, analyzing my pieces and thinking about my music has contributed to my love for the instrument. In other words, the amount of work I put into something is directly proportional to how much I love it.”
