Luca Buratto was one of the thirty finalists of the 2013 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Other competitions include: 3rd Prize and Audience Award at the XVI International Schumann Competition, and Special Prize at the Cherkassky International Piano Competition.

After achieving the final piano Diploma, studying with Edda Ponti at the Milan Conservatory, he entered the master degree course at Bolzano Conservatory, studying with Davide Cabassi.

In 2011, 2012, and 2013 he was admitted to Nabore’s master class at the International Piano Academy at Lake Como and was invited to play at the Piano Academy Special festival during the Piano Master Festivals. In 2012 and 2013, Luca opened the “Rencontres Musicales et Artistiques” at the Leysin American School and he took part in the International Concert season “Primavera di Baggio” in Milan at Sant’Apollinare Old Church.

Luca made his debut in 2003 in the “Sala Verdi” at Milan Conservatory performing music by his great-grandfather Renzo Massarani, in the Holocaust Remembrance Day event.

In the 2007-2008 “Beethoven Cycle” of the Orchestra “I Pomeriggi Musicali,” he played the first performance in Milan of the youthful Beethoven Piano Concerto WoO 4. Luca was invited to join the program “The pianist” as a guest by the network “Radio Classica.” In 2011 and 2013 he performed on Radio 3 RAI during the live broadcast of the “Holocaust Remembrance Day.” He also performed on the radio program “Piazza Verdi.”

During the Chopin Schumann 200 Years Festival produced by the Milan Conservatory, he played Schumann’s Piano Concerto with the Symphony Orchestra of the Milan Conservatory.

In 2011, he played Liszt’s Piano Concerto No.1 with the Magdeburgische Philharmonie and Prokofiev’s Concerto No.3 with the La Verdi Symphonic Orchestra and the 3rd Piano Concerto by Rachmaninoff in 2013 with the same orchestra.
