Xingji Piao was born in a musical family in 1992, and began to study the piano at age four. He showed great promise from an early age, winning many competitions.

He is currently studying on a full scholarship with Professor Gabriel Kwok at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

In recent years, Piao has performed around the world. He performed concertos with the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra and the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra in 2005. He undertook a concert tour in China in 2006 and also performed in Austria, Poland, Italy and Hungary. In 2010, he made his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City. In 2013, he gave a solo recital at the 41st Hong Kong Arts Festival.
