Artem Yasynskyy was born in 1988 in Donetsk, Ukraine into a family of professional musicians. At age seven he became a pupil of Albina Oryshuk at the Special School for Gifted Children in Donetsk. He gave his first public concert at the age of eight. Numerous youthful competition successes included prizes at the International Piano Competition of Prokofiev’s Native Land(Donetsk 1999, 2003), the Horowitz Debut Competition(2001, Kiev), the Vladimir Krainev Competition(Charkov 2005) and the Horowitz International Piano Competition for Young Pianists(2001 and 2007, Kiev).

In 2010, he graduated with honors from the Prokofiev State Academy of Music. Thereafter he continued postgraduate piano studies with Patrick O’Byrne at the University of the Arts in Bremen Germany.

In June 2011, he was awarded the Steinway-Förderpreisin Hamburg, becoming in July a scholar of the Hans und Stefan Berbeck Stiftung.

He was awarded 3rd Prize at the international piano competition Gian Battista Viotti in Vercelli in October 2011. In June 2013, he won the Bronze Medal and the Audience Prize at the Sendai International Music Competition. In July 2013, at the First German Piano Competition of Polish Musicheld in Hamburg he won the Hofmann Prize(a recording of works by Joseph Hofmann) as well as a concert tour of Poland, during which he performed as soloist with the Koszalin Philharmonic Orchestra.

Numerous concert appearances have taken him throughout Germany and to Italy, South Korea, Greece, Japan, Spain, and Russia. He has also been a recent participant in master classes held by Dmitri Bashkirov and Paul Badura-Skoda, and has appeared as guest performer at international festivals such as the Donetsk Piano Forum Festival, the Kiev Musical Summer Evenings Festival, the Slavic Culture Days,and the Maggio Piano Festival (2012). In April 2013, he performed as soloist with the Donetsk State Orchestra at the Opening Ceremony of the Prokofiev International Piano Competition In Donetsk.
