The 16th Gina Bachauer International Artists Piano Competition (2014) was the first competition to take place without the life-long dedication and guidance of its Founder, Paul Pollei. During the awards ceremony on June 25th at Abravanel Hall, Douglas Humpherys, the recently appointed Artistic Director, announced that the Foundation’s distinguished Concert Series would be dedicated in honor of Paul Pollei’s legacy.
The guest artists that have been chosen for the 2014-2015 series all had close connections with Paul Pollei, either guided by his influence and associations in the concert world, or benefitting from his many innovations in music education and international piano competitions. We invite you to join us this season to experience what Paul Pollei knew so well: that the incomparable joy found in sharing the language of great music unites our world of numerous nationalities and diverse cultural backgrounds!
