Every two years, the world’s most promising pianists convene in Salt Lake City for the prestigious Bachauer Competitions to compete for recognition, cash, and prizes. The 2026 edition marks the 50th anniversary of the Bachauer, celebrating five decades of discovering and supporting exceptional young artists.

‍

56 competitors have now been invited to compete this June during two weeks of performances in Salt Lake City. They will continue their quest for over $60,000 US in prizes and the opportunity to perform in the Final Round in Abravanel Hall with the Utah Symphony.‍‍

June 14

Junior Opening Ceremony

7 pm (approximately). Meet the Competitors and the Competition Jury, and be part of the excitement as numbers are drawn to determine when their performances are shown to the world for the first time.

June 15-16

Junior Round I

1 pm - 3 pm, 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm, 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm. Each Competitor performs a 30-minute concert.

June 17-18

Junior Round II

1 pm - 3 pm, 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm, 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm. Each Competitor performs a 30-minute concert.

June 18

Junior Finalists Announcement

Approximately 10 pm. After jury deliberation, five Competitors are chosen to perform in the Final Round.

June 20

Junior Final Round

7 pm. Each Finalist performs a concerto movement with second-piano accompaniment.

June 20

Junior Awards Ceremony

Approximately 10 pm. Prizes and Medals are awarded.

June 21

Young Artists Opening Ceremony

7 pm (approximately). Meet the Competitors and the Competition Jury, and be part of the excitement as numbers are drawn to determine when their performances are shown to the world for the first time.

June 22-23

Young Artists Round I

10 am - 12 pm, 1 pm - 3 pm, 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm, 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm. Each Competitor performs a 30-minute concert.

June 24-25

Young Artists Round II

10 am - 12 pm, 1 pm - 3 pm, 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm, 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm. Each Competitor performs a 30-minute concert.

Young Artists Finalists Announcement

Approximately 10 pm. After jury deliberation, five Competitors are chosen to perform in the Final Round.

Young Artists Final Round
