Bachauer Gold Medalist Lukas Geniušas and Cliburn Silver Medalist Anna Geniushene—an electrifying husband-and-wife duo—perform a bold two-piano program featuring Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances, Adams’ Hallelujah Junction, and Copland’s El Salón México.
Acclaimed individually for their electrifying artistry and together for their remarkable musical synergy, Russian-Lithuanian pianists Lukas Geniušas and Anna Geniushene have emerged as one of today’s most compelling piano duos.
Lukas, praised for his “brilliance and maturity” (The Guardian), is a laureate of both the Chopin and Tchaikovsky Competitions and a Gold Medalist at the Bachauer Competition. He performs at top venues worldwide, including Wigmore Hall, the Concertgebouw, and the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, and appears regularly with leading orchestras such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, NHK Symphony, and Orchestre de Paris. His recent recording of Rachmaninov’s original First Piano Sonata earned top accolades from BBC Music, Gramophone, Diapason, and Classica.
Anna rose to international prominence as Silver Medalist of the 2022 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, where her “powerhouse sound” and “rare devotion and insight” captivated critics and audiences alike. Since then, she has debuted at the Kennedy Center, Wiener Konzerthaus, and Tonhalle Zurich, and has collaborated with the Taipei and Lithuanian Symphony Orchestras. Her 2023 solo album—a heartfelt exploration of lullabies—was praised for its emotional depth and stylistic range.
As duo partners, Lukas and Anna bring a rare combination of technical precision, interpretive depth, and instinctive ensemble playing to the stage. Their collaborations are featured in festivals and recital halls around the world, and reflect a shared commitment to both solo excellence and the expressive possibilities of the four-hand and two-piano repertoire.
Born just a year apart in Moscow and now based in Lithuania, Lukas and Anna balance vibrant international careers with a rich family life, raising their two young sons and continuing to inspire audiences together and apart.
